full name: oria severine

alias: vindicare

age: 18

birthday: october 17

pronouns: he/they

race: half british, half russian

visuals
details
height: 5' 7"
build: lean
hair color: black
eye color: blue
Oria's hair is said to be noticeably soft, despite having it been dyed black. His real hair color is beige, like his father's, but he prefers his hair dyed black anyway, as a means of standing out from his family (all beige/brown sort of shade and white). He takes care of his hair very well, to the point his friends put him in a "relationship with his hair" status on Facebook. His glasses are half-rimmed of red tint, despite his eyes being of a deep electric blue shade. They glow when he channels magic from his mother's side in the Flipside. His ear contains multiple clip-on earrings along the edges. He usually wears business casual during meetings that he has to attend, his school uniform without the tie when he goes to school, or just a very casual way of dressing outside of all that. He tends to dress well, and never like a slob unless he's home.
powers
Calorie Consumption Healing: Oria's main ability is regeneration by converting calories. Yup. It heals him very quickly depending on how much he uses it to burn for healing. He never mentions it to anybody because eating to heal yourself sounds silly.

Electricity Manipulation: He can tap into his mother's magic pool that he inherited and control electricity at will. It's very useful when he can also manipulate technology or anything that uses electricity. For example, he can create a hologram screen if he wants to see what the local cameras are looking at.

Item Code - Handgun: A weapon that Oria can bring out of his soul core. It never runs out of bullets. Combined with electricity, it has the power to shoot at the same power as highly-powered railguns. It can also shoot big beam of electricity from it. Extremely versatile with slotting different types of bullets with high destructive power.

EXEC_VINDICARE: Tapping into a titleholder's power deep inside his soul core enables a sure single-target kill after five minutes as long as the user is still alive. Target requirement is that it's someone he wishes to exact vengeance upon. Cost is his empathy at a steady decreasing rate the more he uses it.

notes All of these abilities are restricted to the Flipside, but their aftereffects linger in the real world. One of bad ends are Oria using his title power too much and returns to the real world, devoid of empathy for others.
story
CW: transphobia, misogyny, gender dysphoria, body horror, attempted fratricide

Oria Severine was born as the last child of the Severine family, a year behind Iria, the older sister, and two years behind Aria, the oldest sister. Oria was initially born as female, but Kaleria, the mother figure of the Severine family, wanted a boy as the main heir even if he had to be the youngest, and was determined to raise Oria as male. Oria never particularly identified with one over another, because it was something that was never thought about until Oria was seven years old. Oria received surgery at the age of ten and it was half a failure at the time. Even though Oria didn't bleed, he still experienced cramps that would usually accompany a menstrual cycle. He sometimes did drastic things to cover it up, such as imitating food poisoning so that no one would get suspicious. As a child, he hated everything related to subject of gender, and it really didn't help that it was a very hot topic in society. Oria struggled a lot for several years on what he was supposed to be, but eventually decided that it was better to be who he was supposed to be. After Oria settled on that, his life became easier.

As he grew up, Oria settled into his male identity and wholly accepted it. It felt natural as time passed and he never rejected it out of spite. Instead, once he let go of his spite, he became much happier, despite it being stemmed from an unhappy foundation.

Oria started to be something along the lines of a bully hunter, and it started when he saw Bora Seo getting bullied by a posse of girls in middle school. After he saved her from the group of girls with future reminders to back off, she developed a crush on him, but he couldn't find himself liking her in return. Not to mention the fact that Bora had an older adopted brother named Sora, who looked like he always had a bone to pick with Oria every time they met. They can't stand each other, and it still persists even to present time. Regardless, ever since then, Oria had a penchant for beating up bullies, which started the Prince nickname, due to him coming in to save the bullied students if he came across them, whether they were from his school or not. Doesn't matter who the bully is--male, female, high social status, no social status--they all get beaten up equally. Though Oria always wanted to save people out of unfair situations and had the drive to do whatever he could to ensure that.

He also started training for business from middle school, which took up more time. This was when his mother gave him strenuous lessons on manners, how to keep a poker face, and essentially, how to deal with people who want something from him. His father taught him the practical things and what he should be on the lookout for in business. Oria wasn't looking to inherit his father's company, but to earn it, so he worked hard. It really helped that academics felt like they were nothing in comparison, so he had more time to learn. He always observed business meetings, partook in social events, and the like. Sometimes it was a drag, but this was what he ultimately wanted to do, and knowing that it'll be in full swing after he enrolls in university, so he should enjoy his time before then.

His high school was an all-boy's boarding school, which was essentially cut off from the world at large. The difficult academics didn't affect him, as his roommate and best friend would say, "you could play candy crush in class and still get an A". Cethin Kearn was his best friend for all four years, and they had a lot of adventures together, which involved going around the city and hitting on girls, participating in school events--as Cethin would say, "you have great legs so you should show them off" in an attempt to rope Oria into a crossdressing pageant. Oria, as someone who was never keen on taking pictures for the sake of memories, started liking cameras a little, because Cethin would never go anywhere without his camera to take pictures of anything and everything that happened or if anything caught his interest. Oria (begrudgingly) earned the title of Prince in his school too, for being the same bully hunter and for being rarely without a girlfriend at any given time. He had many and could probably count the days he was single on one hand. One truly only lives once.

After his high school graduation, he moved with his family to a beach house to spend the summer there. Unfortunately, Oria found a deserted mirror in the attic, and found a very wounded version of himself looking back at him in the reflection with a lot of malice. Time loops started occurring with Aria dying at the end every time with her state of the body being worse than the previous loop, and Oria tried so desperately to break free of the time loop. He doesn't know how many times he looped with Iria, but she claimed to have seen him kill Aria in the previous loop and strangled him, since she snapped. Oria didn't want to fight back against her, so he just let her do what she wanted. Luckily, he didn't die. Unluckily, the wounded mirror image struck a deal with Oria--in exchange for his life in his current world, he could change places with the wounded mirror image--Satria Severine, he was called. Oria attempted to beat Satria at his own game, but ultimately failed, leading to his death in that world to replace Aria's death event, and being sent over to the Flipside, a parallel world where one important concept is changed for each person.

The Flipside was a world rife with magic, and in that particular world, Oria was only half-human at best. Everyone who wasn't fully human had a specialized skill with a drawback and an Item Code. He figured out that in the Flipside, his mother was a magical girl veteran, and that his father had the defensive capabilities of the strongest shield in existence. Aria was alive and could manipulate time and Iria no longer had her blood allergy and had the highest kill count of Simulacra, particularly of the Husk variant.

Simulacra were beings who did not exist in the real world, and only existed in the Flipside. Moreover, they control a lesser existence called Husks that often took over corpses of the deceased, healed them, and resume living out the original inhabitant's life, right down to all their body complications and personality. It fucks people up, because Husks aim to eat people's souls in order to grow stronger, and what better bait to use than their previous loved one? Those in possession of Item Codes could exterminate Husks, and good thing Oria had one in the form of a handgun, because the Husks were under orders from Satria to get rid of Oria at any cost. He eventually learned how to channel electricity from his mother's power pool, so that helped a lot with his survival rate. He travels with his friend, Cethin Kearn, Flipside version, as he tries to find Aislin, the leader of the Simulacra. It turned out that this Cethin had actually died during the gang turf wars three years prior and that a Husk had taken over his corpse. After Cethin was hospitalized, Oria suffocated him to death with a pillow as the Husk was in a comatose state. The Oppressor, one of the rulers of Flipside (who also inhabits the body of Oria's acquaintance), bestowed the title of the Vindicare upon Oria. There are various other titles, but they all have something in common: titleholders have the potential to tap into their soul core for greater power in exchange of something (differs from person to person).

this is getting too long, but just know that satria severine is a fucked up physical manifestation of oria's mother's wish of wanting a boy that manifested in the flipside and that different endings happen depending on what happens between oria vs satria. he also meets hien at some point and breaks the "only one timeline" rule that overseers have with aria. shion choi also happens to be aria's son in another doomed timeline who ended up in main timeline. yes, it's one of those shions (hien: there's too many of me). oria also gets up in a huge bitchfight with sora over what happens to flipside!iria. :')

relations
☞ Aria Severine: Oldest child of the three. Oria likes playfully teasing and playing pranks on her. Has respect for her musical talent though. Despite everything, Oria's bond with Aria was strong enough to take her spot in dying to end the time loop. Had great teamwork with Flipside version of Aria to destroy Hien's Overseer rule of "there can only be one timeline with his existence" for their world. Aria almost became an Overseer herself, but Oria and the Oppressor prevented that from happening.

☞ Iria Severine: Middle child of the three. She looks over Oria's progress in business training and nags at him so much, but he still affectionately calls her "Iri". Closer to her than Aria. She supports Oria the most out of anyone else. Also has excellent teamwork with Iria's Flipside version in wiping out mass hordes of Husks. Was extremely upset to hear the doomed timeline's version of Iria was on the verge of turning into a Husk (Oria of that timeline gave her a mercy kill) and the Flipside's version of Iria being gravely injured from taking Sora's attack that was meant for Oria.

☞ Kaleria Ostrovsky-Severine: His mother. Oria has complicated feelings towards his mother, because it was due to her wish that Satria existed and the fact that he had to go through forced transitioning when young. Despite that, she raised him well with the full intention of making him take over the company once he was capable of it. She also lost her eye protecting Oria during a bank robbery. Kaleria is aware that she may never earn Oria's forgiveness despite that though. Flipside version of Kaleria has her an incredibly strong magical girl veteran who still retains powers. Aislin and Satria, two high-ranking Simulacras, were created by her. One of Flipside's rulers.

☞ Arvel Severine: His father. His feelings are also a little complicated towards him, but not as much as his mother. Oria respects him for what he can do, because despite having to sleep in the corporate building half the time, he still spends time with his family outside of business. Had extremely conflicted emotions over finding out that Arvel sold Sora for business. He wields the strongest shielding power in the Flipside, which saves Oria quite a bit early on. Was extremely upset when Arvel died in the Flipside and turned into a Husk, in which Oria killed in return with immense difficulty.

☞ Sora Seo: Iria's ex-boyfriend, blood-related sibling. Oria doesn't get along with Sora at all, and the feeling is mutual. Sora also believes that Oria is only stringing Bora along while he's aware of her crush for him. That's another thing that pisses him off about Oria, but Sora can't bring himself to hate Oria, despite feeling protective over Bora as he normally should be as her brother. Sora and Oria actually went on a date together once, but it was on a dare. Sora protected Oria from a group of guys who didn't know how to handle being rejected. His Flipside version makes their relationship even more complicated, because Satria, who shares Oria's face, damaged his eye permanently and his resentment for Oria runs deep for other reasons.

☞ I'LL ADD MORE LATER...

misc
☞ Oria owns a pet parrot that he occasionally teaches questionable phrases to, such as "Help! I'm trapped in a parrot's body!"
☞ Has the skills and strength of a professional bowling player, but it's merely a leisure sport to him. He occasionally plays in the private lane in the basement of the house. Beats Ceron a lot.
☞ Puts on a more professional front in the workplace most of the time, but gets comfortable outside of it. He's able to switch between his usual personality with his work personality at the drop of a hat.
☞ Nearly legally blind without his glasses.
☞ Usual attitude towards things consist of confidence, pride, hope, and optimism. He's also a person who accepts just barely short of reasonable challenges. Definitely a sanguine disposition.
☞ Favorite candy are peeps. Second favorite is taffy. Has a sweet tooth. Favorite drink is hot chocolate. Favorite season is autumn. Favorite holiday is post-valentine's from all the chocolates that go on sale. Favorite color is this. Favorite flowers are water lilies.
☞ Oria is called a lot of things, which some include: Oreos, an offended cat, and a prissy Pikachu.
☞ Neither an early bird nor a night owl. Can't handle both ends of extreme temperatures.
☞ Can't cook for shit, but can pick out good quality ingredients.
☞ Used to be afraid of heights. Got over it with inline skating parkour.
☞ Gets too many comments about his smaller than average, very smooth hands despite how much he uses them.
